NOT the new C class.

I don’t think this is a really accurate illustration of what the next 2009 Prius will look like.
It seems to be too close to the current one.

But at least, it it’s not the C class, right?

  1. Toyota did such a good job of marketing the prius from the begining as an eco-freindly vehicle. Its funny cause it doesnt even seem like toyota and others putting hybrid engines in their usual lineup of vehicles seem to have the same effect on consumers as this hybrid only hype. Lets see if it will continue. I think the future will be that GM volt concept with its plug in engine. But typical of GM, their eco-concepts usually dont have the technical commonplace behind them to be ready for market any time soon. Im not sure they even have many real hybrid engine offerings today. At least not as many as the Japanese. Lets hope htye take the initiative with the volt.

  2. hey, Vince, I read 80 mpg city? even if that is just 65 MPg city, maybe 55-60 Hwy…that’s an improvement.
Also, read that Honda is working on a 5 seater Insight for 09?

  3. I think the Honda might end up being a Hybrid version of the next Fit. Not a 5 seater Insight.

  4. I just dont understand the concept of “plug in” hybrids, I kinda thought hybrids was a way to get away from electricty useage, well you can plug in all nite and maybe go 30 miles on battery juice alone in the morning, big deal, those 30 miles is what 1 dollar worth of gas saved in a hybrid, and you will pay close to 6 bucks for the electricity a nite every day times 30 days a month ! hell my little space heater here at my desk costs over a dollar a day to run for the several hours i use it… sooo basically your gonna pay 180 bucks instead of 30 a month for those extra 30 miles a day and those electric plants will generate more pollution than the ulev hybrid will !!!!!

  5. Geez Anon 4:05PM… You are messing up the wet-dream for people who are bad at Physics (AKA Suckers). Now if electricity was generated from Nuclear fission then…..

  6. “those 30 miles is what 1 dollar worth of gas saved in a hybrid, and you will pay close to 6 bucks for the electricity a nite”

How did you came up with that $6 figure? It costs way more than $1 worth of gas for 30 miles.

i figured anywhere between 5 and 10 bucks a day to plug this thing in, my space heater at 750 watts is over a buck a day to use also my window a-c unit is 2 bucks a day, and the Prius is supposed to get 60 miles a gallon and gas is 2 bucks a gallon so 30 miles would be 1 dollar !!!!

  8. From “Estimated cost savings: $900 after using electricity to rechargeAssumes price of gasoline is $2.40 and equivalent costs of electricity from grid are $0.60/gallon, $300 annually. 40-mile range based on EPA city cycle”From GM’s figures, equivalent cost of electricity is $0.60 per gallon vs $2.4 per gallon in gas.
