As a Honda lover I have to admit, based on this picture this thing is FUGLY. Just when you thought Honda has figured out their mistake, then you get that thing.
How could you do that to something so meaningful as the CR-V? It’s an icon!! leave it alone. And I thought the the new Rav4 was uninspiring…LOL.

Only the rear behind the c pillar matches the illustrations previously posted… that one of the front end u posted like twice before was definately a photoshop because it looked retarded… it had the old crv’s headlamps with some freakishly ugly grill stuck directly under them… this design shown here is very appealing to me. Nothin like that stupid photo u showed us before.
Ho-hum. And what’s up with the front end of this thing? It looks like Honda couldn’t decide between 2 designs, so they used both.
I think it is very similar to the “retarded” illustration I showed before.
Except for the weird chrome clip.

Honda can be very stubborn about its designs. They stuck with that rediculous droopy ass on the Accord for too long. Finally, they listened to the critics and freshened the rump. Will they be just as stubborn with the CR-V’s schnozz? Probably.
Cr-V has always been an ugly car. I expect nothing less from honda for the new model. lol
I like it, I hope the new grill will look a little more like the new civic. Maybe its just me, but the front head lights and fenders remind a little bit of the Infiniti FX, which is a good thing.

The Accord’s butt looks fine and doesn’t have the extra 1.6″ of extra length to park. The Accord was already too big before the new butt was added; however, the car is so good that it doesn’t matter.
The new CRV for the U.S. probably won’t have that goofy front end. And if Honda dumps that stupid tire that hangs off the back of the current CRV, it’ll be a BIG improvement.
The front does need some modifications and I hope the price of this car is not expensive. If so, I will buy the Jeep Patriot of Suzuli SX-4
I am guess the first wave of cars to hit our shore will come from Japan and then trucked from Ohio or somewhere local.

Yes. It’s called an opinion. And it’s obviously one Honda heard from numerous critics. It’s why they changed it so dramatically for 2006.
But I’m glad you like the older rear end. To each his or her own, not baloney.
And if Honda dumps that stupid tire that hangs off the back of the current CRV, it’ll be a BIG improvement.
I forgot to add that I’ve read that the new CR-V will lose the spare on the back, but it has served me well on my 2001.
Heck, I can live with the grill even though it’s not my favorite. The overall design is an improvement.
SORRY HONDA!!!!! Looks like your main target was the Toyota Matrix on this one! Also, the new Acura RD-X closely resembles the Pontiac Vibe! Both are just a little bigger in size over the Toyota based twins! Now that they lowered the ground clearance by over 3 inches, thousands of potential customers in rural and snowbelt areas a month will flock to other more capable name plates to get them through the rough elements of good old Mother Earth!!! A small 4 wheel drive wagon with low ground clearance just will not cut it in these challenging areas!! Why not put ground effects on the lower rocker panels and low profile tires on the new CR-V like a Scion x-B and try to drive through snow without getting hung up??? Just ask anyone who owns one to hear the horror stories of just such their experiences! CR-V’s have had 8.1 inches of ground clearance from day one!!! That’s more ground clearance than a Honda Pilot or the Element! That’s what made them so popular to begin with!! To prove this point, Subaru just increased the ground clearance of the Forester this year because they relised they were loosing sales to CR-V customers!!! Looks like Honda can add the CR-V to the slow selling list of the Element now!! Ask any Honda dealer and they will tell you that the Element is the slowest moving model on their lots!!! Maybe when the 2008 Element is redesigned they will increase the ground clearance and make it more like the 2nd generation CR-V!! We can only wait, hope and keep our fingers crossed for now!!!!!!
Honda has had 14 record sales months in a row…I don’t think they are worried.
Vince, since the new Acura RD-X is exclusive to North America and will never see the shores of Europe or Asia, do you think the 2007 Honda CR-V we will be getting in the U.S. will be exactly the same as the one in Japan and England or will there be differences such as the Honda Odyssey? Please enlighten us with your wisdom and knowledge!!! We all would deeply appreciate it!!!

Hey Vince, thanks for all the info on this cars, great job body.
I think the design it is great, I like it better than previous models.
The Honda CR-V gets a huge attention from female drivers, they love it and so does my wife.
I started to kind of like the 2002 Model and up.
As a guy I can see myself driving that model. I like Honda Vs Toyota because its Safety and its price. YOU CAN SPEND $40k IN A NEW TOYOTA AND THEY WANT YOU TO PAY $2,500 FOR SIDE AND CURTAINS AIR BAGS. THEY ARE TOO GREEDY.
This it is my humble opinion guys, if I wanted more power I will go for the Acura RDX or even the Pilot.
Safety it is a big thing in my case, I trust my family in a Honda any giving day.
Its resale value and performance it is great. I am sure that the new inside design for the CR-V will be great too.
Print the picture of the new CR-V design and show it to a girl and I guarantee you that they will love it.

People who live in severe climates and extreme rural areas require more capable platforms like SUV’s and trucks! Unless you ever experienced off roading or a foot of wet packed snow you just would not understand why it is necessary to have a vehicle with high ground clearance! Just because a vehicle has 4 wheel drive doesn’t mean you can’t get stuck or hung up on your travels! Until it happens to you on a cold deserted road late at night, you just would not understand!
Vince, will the 2007 CR-V we are getting here in the U.S. be the exact same one they will be getting in Japan, England and Europe? Or are we going to be fortunate enough to receive our own exclusive version? I truely believe the U.S. market has different needs from foreign markets and requires exclusive platforms to better fit the needs of Americans! Please let us know!!! Then buy whatever vehicle you deem fit. I’m not going to buy a truck or SUV just for the .001% chance I will be stuck on a cold deserted road late at night. Most Americans shouldn’t either.
The CR-V has provided many people with just the sort of transportation they need for their lives. The new one will continue this tradition of reliable, capable, affordable utility.
The new 2007 CR-V will have a reduction of over 3 inches in ground clearance making it more of a wagon than an SUV!!! Subaru sells ‘Outback’ versions of their wagons with almost 3 inches of greater ground clearance for people who require it! Honda should at least do the same by offering 2 versions of the 2007 CR-V, one with 8.1 inches of ground clearance like the current model and one with 5 inches for people who do not need the additional height! If they don’t, they will loose customers to other brands!!!
I TOTALLY AGREE with the previous post! Honda should offer two versions of the CR-V if they are going to lower the ground clearance on the 2007 model! If they don’t, when it’s time for me to trade in my 2002 CR-V, I’ll have to shop around for a vehicle with at least the same ground clearance! Subaru and Toyota are looking more interesting to me all of a sudden!

If Honda doesn’t bring back the ‘Double Wishbone Suspension’ they had in the front end of the 1st generation CR-V, they might as well call it quits!!! The cheaper set-up of struts they have in the 2nd generation CR-V have been a source of major problems, even though Honda will not admit to it or recall the vehicles!!! The creaks, clunks and thuds in cold weather are bad enough but the extremely punishing ride is cause enough to avoid this model at all costs!!!! 1st generation CR-V’s had a much more pleasant and composed ride due to the more expensive set-up of the Double Wishbone Suspension, which was one of Honda’s finer attributes to the automotive industry!!! If they can’t match this achievement on the 3rd generation model, Honda’s reputation and glory will be lost forever!!!!!!
I am waiting for the new CR-V, I just road tested the new RAV4 from Toyota and it rides nice, I like the handling more than anything and the fact that it is bigger (it means a lot to me since my family will be riding in it) but the inside it is really cheap loking. The clock and design its so ugly, not appealing at all, and the seats (cloth)the colors are really bad and, TOYOTA still charges you extra for the goddamm Curtains Air Bags. I think it is rediculus that you have to pay extra for safety. That is one of the reasons I am waiting for the CR-V, I got a feeling that the inside will look a lot like the current Civic (I like it more than the RAV4)and the Air Bags are all standard.
