Why every single car company in this side of the Atlantic always think Americans wont buy into something cool and futuristic? When Japanese and VW keep sending us dorky looking vehicles, they are building affordable and sub-zero cars like Seat Leon, Ractis, Aygo, …. Damn those customs who constantly let criminals and illegal immigrants go, but keeping us from driving something cool.
Great. Yet another post of this boring miserable vehicle. Toyota stinks.
Jealousy kills.
I can make a nice linear graph of the rise in Toyota hate and jealousy vs the rise in Toyota’s popularity and continued success.
its not jealousy and hate
we just choose not to like bland boring grandma style cars, which toyota does very very well and sells by the ship load.
We just saying that they have no imagination.
“I can make a nice linear graph of the rise in Toyota hate and jealousy vs the rise in Toyota’s popularity and continued success.”
Who’se hating? When they offered the Supra, Celica AWD back in 89, or 2nd gen MR2, it was a company with some life to it. Now, Toyota appeals to people who don’t care about cars. Toyota has learned that they will do better by not bothering to build interesting cars and just simply grabbing the low-handing fruit (i.e. appealing to “dullards”) Thankfully most other carmakers are much more creative, if not more profitable.
No imagination, or them simply catering to the market? Imagination brings a lot of strange designs and ideas, which most consumers shun. Toyota has lots of imagination in their concepts.
Design-wise, Toyota had a lot of boring vehicles for the past decade, but they are starting to get a bit better. The FJ Cruiser is a bit more off-beat than typical Toyota models, and they have some interesting models in Japan and Europe, but not in North America.
More profitable? You need to check profit figures for “creative” companies and compare them with Toyota. Toyota recently announced their fiscal 2005 profits, and they made $12B in profits. They are the world’s richest automaker, and made the most profit out of any other automaker.
The upcoming Lexus supercar should really get people’s interest going.
looks like a crappy yaris, which is crappy unto itself
it looks too much like THIS yaris !
And this varies from the current model, how??
HOW BORING TOYOTA!!!
