Powered by a new 2.0 Liter engine with 143hp, it gets between 24 and 29 mpg and should be priced between $15 000 and $18 000.
The gas mileage isn’t as good as many small car, but it does have AWD standard.
This is agreat idea when most small SUVs get larger and larger. And a cool alternative to a small sedan.
I can’t wait to drive one.
I think the interior looks nice, but I don’t like the exterior. I think it will become a cute girl’s car, but should be fun to drive.
Whats with that pathetic gas milage? My V50 218 horsepower get 27/32!
Suzuki seems to be really riding the high waves these days and this seems to be the begining.
It is about time that the Japanese bring us a small AWD car beside the Aerio and the Subies.
I will go to the NY Auto Show very soon to check this baby out. I also hope they bring the Swift with the GT package.

This was Suzuki’s idea since the project was managed by a Japanese
Engineer and made in the same plan where they build the Swift for Europe.
To the guy who has a VOlvo V50, your car is rated at 20/28 with the Automatic, 19/26 with a manual. Kinda sad since an Accord makes 30 more horsepower and gets better mileage, and also costs MUCH less.

It was a Suzuki-Fiat collaboration with Suzuki doing most of the work. Suzuki platform, Suzuki drivetrain, Suzuki transmission, Suzuki engine, Suzuki steering wheel, Suzuki interior pieces, etc. The Fiat is basically the one that’s the rebadge, as any true “bastard” would know.
GM allied with FIAT to save money and use FIAT’s parts and technology. I expect fully that much of this car is actually FIAT based. That Suzuki can come out with a whole range of different vehicles in such a short time means that they had lots of help.

What? It’s a Suzuki engine! It uses the same front buckets as the Grand Vitara! It uses the same climate control buttons as the Grand Vitara! It uses the same steering wheel as the new Swift! Are you guys serious!?!
I sat in the car at the show and felt kind of different. Inside the car had a high ceiling but the rear was kind of small and narrow, maybe that is what is expected with this type of car and class, but I expected something more Golf like in size. The plastics seemed ok, but felt VW quality was far better. Hopefully the production model will feel better put together since this version seemed to be nissing some paintunder the hood and the plastics near the bottom of the driver’s seat seemed to have come off.
Also, I think they should not use the same types of seats and wheels found on the surfer edition. It kind of clashed with the design, but Suzuki has still come along way
and hopefully have a better production car version car will make its way here for Suzuki to have its big break.
