2006 US Accord

Last Updated:

Just a couple more official pics of the revised Accord rear end.
Just when I was getting used to the previous one. Nothing was very wrong with it really. Maybe the lights.
I think this is a bit too little too late. And even more boring than before, and not well integrated to the rest of the car…
I think this one might have a hard time next year once the all new 2007 Camrys and Altimas are out.

  1. Looks fine to me, but I have the ’04 Accord which looks good, too.

One thing I don’t like about the ’06 Accord is the 1.6 inches added to the length of the car because the Accord is long enough now.

The Accord is a great car that’s in danger of becoming too big!

  2. Looks great, hopefully Hyundai comes up with their own design, now that they’re copying Honda’s designs. As you can see the new sonata looks like a current Honda

  3. That is an improvment over the Accord from 03-05 I like the chrome grill I seen too. The back looks better but it would look even better if it had clear lighting on it the car no longer has its odd proportions it used to have it’s shape now really brings out its Honda styling unlike the previous shape from 03-05 it looked to angular and weird.

  4. I’m certainly no Honda-hater (I own one currently and have since 1986), but Honda designs have been unexciting and ugly for several years now. This mild freshening is an improvement (if boring), but a car as good as this Accord deserves something stunning to wear.

Honda: go shopping for new designers.

  5. yet again viewers of this site ramble on about the latest accord/ civic/ minivan light clusters and revised seat fabrics for hours, whilst hardly commenting about exciting cars such as the new alfa spider, Jaguar XK or peugeot concept!

    So?

  7. somehow it just doesnt make sense to me how honda-a very reputable brand-puts a new grille, tailights, and dashboard instruments on one of its best-selling car lines amongst a bunch of new competition coming out in the next year (especially the toyota camry) and calls it a redesign.

  8. That is one boring rear end. Honda seems to have moved all its designers into the civic camp, leaving, someone from; I don’t know, Accounts Payable maybe, to cover this model’s facelift.

For a long time the Toyota styling edict was “just don’t make it ugly and our reputation will cover the rest”. It sold plenty of cars, but they had to create Scion to attract anyone who actually considers image in their buying process.

The whole Honda brand hasn’t followed yet but they are sure there with the Accord.
