2024 Mercedes EQE SUV: official…
Last Updated:
These are the first official photos of the all-new SUV version of the Mercedes EQE EV.
As usual, the base model will be RWD while AWD is an option. A few more powerful AMG versions will be available as well.
It uses the same battery pack as the EQE sedan and is rated at “up to” 370 miles on the European Cycle. Something that is comparable to the Tesla Model Y in the US. The EQE SUV is also about 4 inches longer than the Model Y.
So far, it’s pretty hard to even guess a price since the official US pricing for the EQE sedan hasn’t been announced yet. Although we already know production will start in the US in December. And the larger EQS SUV is only about $2500 more than the sedan. If priced in the low 70s or even a bit less to start, this could be really tough competition for the Tesla Model Y…
The exterior doesn’t seem exciting or innovative but at least it doesn’t scare you like some BMWs of late.
(I tried sending by e-mail, here’s the Fisker Pear’s newer image

That interior is quite horrid. Maybe it’s better without the “Electric Art Line” package, and in a different colour combo?
Mercedes EVs including the EQE are manufactured with China-made parts (i.e. batteries etc.) in BBAC’s Shunyi factory in China. China is dominating the EV market now.
Here’s how I know I’m getting old… I remember when LUXURY meant a car rode soft, had leather seats, and electric windows. Now, its massaging seats, contoured surfaces and StarTrek cockpit. Aaack. I really wish this arms-race would go in another direction. I’d love say, Acura, to make their seats fully adjustable- including lumbar and thigh extension like Recaro’s – but, manually adjusted. And then add in heating and maybe cooling, with great cloth, which is actually more expensive than the cheap leather they use. That has to be lighter and more fuel efficient. Just make the seats the focus. I’m ok with digital if its simple. I dont want a video game in front of me. And give me a heads-up display that isn’t tiny and difficult to see half the time. My Civic has a 2 tier dash and its like having a heads-up display that you can actually see ALL THE TIME. And when I drive our new CRV, the instruments feel old by comparison. Change for change-sake isn’t always better. But Mercedes Benz knows nothing about that.
The more I see this car the more I hate it… Maybe a base model with a little chrome line around the windows could look better?
I guess it actually doesn’t look plainer than a Tesla Model Y? and at least the interior is 1000% better.
Still, if that thing starts around $80 000 it’ll be tough. (Although the new Polestar 3 is even more…)
This should start at under $70 000.
