Tesla Model 3 Plaid.
Last Updated:
Telsa will reveal the new Plaid version of the revised Model 3 very soon.
Rumors from China even claim a few units have already been built at the Freemong factory in California. Mass production could start in March in California and Shanghai. This also means the revised “Hihgland” Model 3 would finally be available in the US around that time as well.
The Plaid will replace the performance model that is still available in the US, but no longer available where the new “Highland” version is sold. The Model 3 Performance is already rated at 3.1 seconds from 0 to 60, and I don’t really think there will be a huge improvement there.
The new model will obviously come with Tesla’s Plaid logo, as well as a new small carbon fiber spoiler in the back. The wheels also have a new design.
Inside, it looks like the Plaid model will get brand-new front seats as well. That’s all we know so far about the Model 3 Performance replacement.
The good news is that we’ll finally be getting the revised Model 3 in the US. It has been widely available around the world for a few months and I think Tesla might just be waiting for the revised Model Y (Code name Juniper) to be ready at around the same time. I know rumors point to a later date for the new Model Y, but after seeing the new Model 3 interior, potential Model Y buyers would just wait to buy the new one. Sales of the Model Y could tank before the new one is revealed.
We’ll see…
