2026 Porsche Cayman EV.

These illustrations show what the upcoming Porsche 718 Cayman EV could look like.

As we know, the new Cayman EV and its convertible counterpart are late. Very late. It seems everything VW is late these days not only from VW but also Audi and Porsche.

We’ve seen spy shots of the “next” generation Cayman and Boxter for years now. Literally. First VW ran into trouble with their EV software. Over and over it seems. Now they’re not even sure the next generation Sport cars should be EV only. More recently, Porsche has been rumored to be struggling with the driving dynamics of the new cars. Trying to make them feel as close to the ICE modes as possible.

Porsche seems to have been confused about one thing or another for years. It’s amazing the new Macan EV finally got out.

However, I can see their point. They decided to price the Macan EV at $20,000 over the previous generation. and that’s a huge jump. The current 718 Cayman starts at $73,000 in the US. That would mean a new EV version starting at well over $90,000. Of course, that would still be cheaper than the 911 which currently starts at over $120,000.

That’s right, the good old 911 states at $120,000 now!
