2020/21 Kia Optima
Last Updated:
Still covered up. And it is hard to see anything we haven’t seen before.
It looks like the side chrome part running from the base of the windshield to the rear trunk could have quite an interesting design. And so does the rear window.
The front end looks like it is slanted “backward” a bit. (With the tip of the hood sticking out more than the grille) Something we have also seen in spy shots of the upcoming Sorento.
So this could be a new corporate design feature for future Kia designs.
(reminiscent of the 1996 Mitsubishi Galant)
The all-new Kia Optima is due in September. So it shouldn’t be long before we see much better pictures.
I think the Sonata is going to be the looker of the Korean twins this time around.
This is making me sad as it looks quite boring. I was thinking Mitsubishi Galant up front before I even read that it came to mind for you too. It's like they took the 2016-2019 Model and melted it into bland soup. It's weird we are in a world there the Camry is more dynamic in the looks department again.
I think this all has to do with the whole "Stinger looks like an Optima!" tribe. They definitely won't be mistaken anymore.
I think this is still under heavy camouflage. And Kia could surprise us.
Let's hope it doesn't take a super boring turn like the new Forte.
But something more surprising like the new Sonata.
Most probably it will be a looker. They know how to design attractive cars.
Fusioptima is probably right.. the 2011-15 Optima is still way more attractive and distinctive than the current model, and does look a lot like the Stinger.. so they are probably aiming to give the sportier greenhouse to the Stinger and make us stop relating it to the Optima.
I was a child when that Mitsubishi Galant was launched, gorgeous design.
