Is this seriously going to be the 2010 Sonata? The 2009 was just refreshed! It would be a waste to not give it one more year at least.
THE CURRENT SONATA IS PRETTY GOOD. SO THE NEW ONE SHOULD BE EVEN BETTER! I JUST HOPE THEY DON’T MAKE IT TOO GOOD OR IT MIGHT HURT THE GENESIS. WHAT TO YOU THINK VINCE?
When is the snot-a available?
yawn
My girlfriend just purchased a 2009 Sonata Limited and it is a fantastic vehicle. It still isn’t on par with an Accord but I’d say it is 95% of the way there for much less money.
With the next iteration I’d think that they will have reached Honda quality levels and if they keep the prices down they will have quite a winner on their hands…
Regardless of how it turn out, it will be FAR better anything GM will have on the road.
Instead of the sonata, could this be an updated Azera? The roofline seems to be more in line with the current Az. Just an observation.
My “educated” guess is that this iteration will come to the States in Spring 2010 as the 2011 Sonata. The refreshed ’09 will carry-through the 2010 model year. Hyundai has a long history of bringing a new model to the Korean (and other international markets) well before it hits the States. Look how long we’ve seen the Elantra Touring -as it will be called here in the U.S., under the Kia and Hyundai badges in other parts of the world…maybe 2 years already?! As far as styling, the Genesis-look will appear in all car lines eventually. For instance look at the ’09 Azera grill which now has the “winglets” in the grill bars whereas before they were straight horizontal lines.
