2024 VW ID.7 Interior: new video…

This new VW video shows us how their “New Smart Vents” in the 2024 ID7 electric sedan work.
First, they don’t really seem that new. At least to anyone who has been in a Tesla. (And that’s a lot of people around the world). On top of that, it seems VW is actually using the screen for even more functions. While just a few weeks ago, they claimed it would change soon. That more control buttons would be back. This is what CEO Thomas Schafer was saying last October: “We are sharpening our portfolio and our design, plus creating a new simplicity in operating our vehicles. For example, we are bringing back the push-button steering wheel! That’s what customers want from VW”.
What we are seeing today is the opposite of that. Of course, all this touch stuff in the ID.7 was already designed and engineered long before October. Still, it’s kind of strange for them to focus on this new feature that is only available from the touch screen. I know, these videos and all the promo stuff were also done before.
I guess VW isn’t ready yet to give “what customers want”…
