BMW Neue Klasse X Concept.

For many years now, it seems BMW has been on a nightmare loop of one horrible design after another. More lines, more scoops, more black plastic crap everywhere, and larger and larger grilles on everything. The Neue Klasse sedan shown last year was such a breath of fresh air. A return to a truly modern much cleaner design. And really, what the 3 series should look like by now. Not just a slightly revised version of the previous one with a larger grille.
Today we see their idea of an SUV version of that Neue Klasse sedan. The Neue Klasse X applies the same idea of a much more modern and cleaner design. It also revives BMW’s classic kidney grille and brings it back to a decent size reminiscent of the old 2002. Which is such a welcome change. There are still some unnecessary black plastic bits on the bumpers, but it is so much better than anything they have in production these days.
The sedan and SUV are, of course, just concept cars. But I really hope most of these designs will end up in what could be called the next iX3 and i3.
The interior is very similar to the sedan concept from last year. Both are great, simple, and seem like a wonderful place to spend time. Tesla has shown we can re-invent car interiors with something totally different, and I think the Neue Klasse interior design could translate into production very well.
Production will start next year. Followed by a redesigned ICE regular X3. I also hope the sedan gets produced.
Finally, there is hope for good-looking BMWs…
