Honda Odyssey test drive coming soon.

Last Updated:

I haven’t driven a Minivan for many years. But the Honda Odyssey is my ride for the whole week. The current generation Odyssey is not all new since it came out 6 years ago already. It received a facelift in 2021.

The version I am driving is a loaded Elite model that is priced at over $ 50,000. So far, it is as expected. Driving like a very large comfortable vehicle.

As usual, I will try to answer any questions you might have.

  1. Good timing. Scuttlebut says a redesign (partial) in 2025. It would be nice if Honda would finally offer a hybrid engine option. The question is whether they can fit the motors in the front. This is a design from the Man-Maximum/Machine Minimum era (ie. short hood) era and it has a 6cyl and 10sp AT crammed tight in there. I guess they’d need to go 4cyl to fit the 2motor system, or add them to the rear wheels which means the fold-into-floor 3rd row would have to go. Its a conundrum for Honda in reusing this existing chassis. Maybe they’ll built it off the new Pilot.
