2025 Audi Q5.
Last Updated:
These are apparently photos from the all-new Audi Q5 SUV for the 2025 model year.
The top 3 photos show the redesigned crossover, looking a lot like the current model. Of course, since it’s an Audi.
But also looks a lot like the new Q6 e-Tron and basically a clone of most Audi SUV designs from the past 10 years.
Inside, it also looks a lot like the new Audi A5 interior. And of course again, the new Audi Q6 e-ZTron interior. It will be very difficult to tell which one is which.
The new Q5 will be officially unveiled tomorrow however, sales will not start before late spring or even summer.
it is based on the same PPC platform used for the new 2025 Audi A5 sedan and Avant wagon. This is basically an Audi A5 SUV now. Like the new VW Tiguan introduced in Europe last year is an SUV version of the new European Passat wagon.
Being so closely related, powertrains are expected to be the same as for the new A5. That means a 2.0 Liter and a V6 Turbo for the SQ5 model.
The current Q5 came out in 2017 and has been a popular model for Audi with over 74,000 of them sold in the US last year alone. However, I just wonder how long people will keep buying a version of the same design, over and over.
I guess this is not much worse than what Mercedes and BMW have been doing for decades. However, I do remember ( I had to look it up), an interview with Audi’s chief executive Rupert Stadler back in 2018. Mentioning how Audi designs would now be different:
“This [repetition] design process was used to make Audis more recognizable in newer and emerging markets. Now we are well known in major markets like China, we can begin to change this philosophy and give each car its own look.” Audi’s head of design Mark Lichte also joined in on the BS with words of wisdom like: ” Since our cars are in production for a minimum of six years, in today’s world I think each model should have its own design to be attractive for this long time”
Again, that was the official BS from Audi back in 2018. 6 years later, new Audi models still all look the same.
I wonder what would the official PR BS would be now…
The exterior pictures look like generated by Artficial Intelligence. Just like the current Q5 with some Gaussian blur. I’m afraid it’s real.
The back reminds me of the Mercedes electric SUV whatevers
Wow that’s awful, and yet all the label snobs will be snatching these up as they hit dealer lots.
