2026 Mazda CX-5.
Last Updated:
Mazda is at work on a next-generation Mazda CX-5 and these illustrations show what it could look like.
They are of course inspired by the Arata concept we saw a few months ago. This is the only thing that would help guess Mazda’s future design language for their upcoming SUV models.
The illustrations are very well done and realistic, however, the SUV shown here is rather boring and very derivative of current models. Not really something that screams 2026. Which means it is probably a realistic guess of what the real thing will look like.
The next-generation Mazda-CX-5 is expected to have a new hybrid powertrain developed in-house by Mazda. One that is different from the new CX-50 Hybrid which is directly from Toyota. It is not known yet if that new hybrid powertrain will be standard or not.
Apparently, the new EV SUV they are also working on could share most of its platform with the new CX-5. Mazda also mentioned the new EV will have a dedicated platform, so who really knows…
Let’s just hope Mazda finds a way to come up with a newer design language. Not just an update on the old one. Wouldn’t that be nice…
I love it. The new shape. I’m a Mazda B4000 fan. Bring those back.
I’ll butbthe rendering look one. Just feel.the old one chopped off in back and boring taillights.
Why is crv different in other countries. Looks better drop.down tail lights
