Chrysler Pacifica EV.

This week we also had a few new info about the next-generation Chrysler Pacifica, which will be part of a new upcoming Chrysler lineup.

From what Chrysler CEO, Christine Feuell mentioned, a new EV Chrysler Minivan is coming. And it will keep the Pacifica name. “there’s so much equity in the market, consumers have a favorable opinion about Pacifica and very high awareness. I see no reason at this point to change the name”. And I think she is right.

Again, this new Chrysler is said to be inspired by the Halcyon concept. Which is even harder to imagine than an SUV or a production sedan. The Halcyon is so futuristic, that it’s hard to even guess what part of it could end up on a minivan design.

I guess a light bar front and rear is a given. Which means by the time it comes out every single 4 door vehicle on the planet will have light bars.

One of the challenges for the new EV minivan is to incorporate Chrysler’s Stow N’Go seats that fold into the floor. Which would be such an improvement over the clumsy outdated system used in the new VW ID.Buzz where you have to actually remove the rear seats if you want a flat floor.

The “regular” ICE Pacifica will get a refresh later this year or next year. While the all-new EV STLA-based model will come sooner after.

The illustration above shows what a revised Pacific could look like. And let’s hope it looks better than this. After all these years it seems an all-new design would be nice. However, with the new EV coming, Chrysler might not have the resources for an all-new design. Maybe adding a light bar will save the day!

The 3.6 Liter V6 is rumored to still be available as well as an improved version of the ePHEV model.
