Chrysler Halcyon Sedan & Coupe.

Last Updated:

That’s right. This isn’t some crazy idea anymore. Chrysler’s CEO mentioned the possibility of the production version of the Chrysler Halcyon concept as a sedan and even possibly a coupe.

Which actually makes some sense since the Halcyon is based on the STLA Large platform used by the 2025 Dodge Charger. The Charger is being produced as a coupe with a sedan available in a few months.

It doesn’t seem that crazy to expect the same thing from Chrysler‘s own version. Of course, the Chrysler will have its own design and it is said to be heavily influenced by the Halcyon concept. I saw the concept in person and while it is very impressive, it doesn’t seem at all close to a production car. Unlike the Dodge Charger concept or the Jeep Recon and Wagoner S concepts which were basically the same as the production models.

About Dodge and Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell says: “I can assure you that both brands have a really bright future in the Stellantis portfolio.” About Chrysler more specifically: “Chrysler brand is here to stay, It is being well invested in. The brand is not on the table for elimination, and it has a very bright future.”

And about the Halcyon: “working on bringing it to market in a real industrialized form that’s portable for customers.” That basically means they came up with some crazy futuristic and unrealistic design for that concept, and now, they have tons of work to do to turn this into a production car… Maybe that’ll be their “Cybertruck moment”.

The coupe and sedan would join the new SUV also inspired by the Halcyon concept. Which is a bit harder to imagine. The SUV will of course come out first, later this year.

While the sedan could be called Halcyon like the concept, I respectfully suggest the name “Cordoba” for the coupe. Of course, almost no one these days will know what a Chrysler Cordoba is or who Ricardo Montalban was. But who cares…
