Toyota Camry.
Last Updated:

The current “new” Toyota Camry came out just about a year ago. And a new design is not expected for another couple of years, at least.
The next generation is already scheduled to get an all-new Hybrid tech that could eventually include Toyota‘s first use of the long-awaited solid-state batteries. The system will also use Toyota’s all-new and more efficient 1.5 Liter and 2.0 Liter engines. This future generation of PHEVs could get double the EV range of current models.
First Toyota will introduce a new “performance battery” with an increase in EV range of up to 40%, in a couple of years. The solid-state units will come out 2 years later. Both are expected to be introduced in hybrid models first.
The current generation Camry is just a heavy facelift of the 2017 model, with a new front and rear end. As well as a redesigned interior. Otherwise, most of the design is from 2017. With a new Corolla probably coming next year with all-new engines, the current Camry could be aging pretty fast…
The next-generation Corolla is also expected to use Toyota’s all-new 1.5-liter engine. In base, Turbo, and hybrid versions. This and a larger 2.0-liter will basically replace almost every single 2.4-liter and 2.5-liter engine Toyota is currently using in most of its lineup. The Camry will not be left behind for long. Either new engines will be offered in the current body in a couple of years. Or we could see an all-new design in 2 to 3 years. Since the current one isn’t truly a new generation anyway.
The standard Camry engine could quickly use the new 1.5-liter hybrid powertrain. A PHEV version of the next-generation Corolla is also a strong rumor, and again, something the Camry might have to offer as well sooner than later.
The illustrations above show what a truly new Camry could look like in 2 or 3 years. In a world where the Toyota Camry would suddenly become quite futuristic…
Those new engines will debut in Mazdas, because its the Skyactiv Z engine series developed by Mazda. We may not see them launched here in the US first. More likely they will show up in Asia and Europe first, just as the Skyactiv X also never came here. The US will likely continue with the 2.5L in the next gen CX-5 at launch. So my guess is the Corolla will show up next year with the current suite of updates to Toyota’s hybrid that we saw in the Prius: higher output electric motor, higher engine compression in the 1.8L engine for more power, better software management, and conversion from the current NiMH to either their newer bipolar NiMH (used in Crown and Lexus systems) or more likely a lithium ion battery (used in the Camry). In other words, NOT the new engine series.
Good afternoon my question is this toyota camry have automatic transmission o cvt,, 🤔 🙏 please make automatic transmission ,,,we love toyota..make ❤️ for live
Have a 2021 CAMRY SE HYBRID which I do like very well it being my third CAMRY after my previous Toyota Tercel and CELICA.
My only objection if at all is, the small trunk on my 2021 CAMRY HYBRID which can be ‘compensated’ with the stupendous gas mileage of 41 mpg!
Otherwise, just looking forward my next RAVA4 hybrid!
Thank you TOYOTA!
