Chrysler Pacifica EV.

Last Updated:

Chrysler has just confirmed they are indeed working on an all-new Pacifica EV minivan.

This, and the new EV SUV based on the new Jeep Wagoneer S should give us a little bit of hope about the brand’s future. It seems they will have at least 2 new models coming up. That’s not much but still twice as many as now.

First, we will see another refresh of the current model for 2026. It seems the new EV will be added to the current lineup and will not replace it. At least not right away. Which sounds similar to what Volvo is doing with the XC90 and EX90. Chrysler’s CEO also mentions the design will take some cues from the Chrysler Halcyon concept we saw a few months ago. Which is hard to believe since the Concept was a super low futuristic sedan.

I guess a light bar for the rear light and maybe a “pointy” front end could somehow remind people of the Halcyon. We’ll have to see. At least it could mean something truly modern-looking.

They are also rumored to work on a new interior packaging for the EV Minivan. One that could even see the middle row fold under the front seats. This would free up an amazing amount of space behind the front seats without having to remove anything.

The Chrysler Minivan has been around since 1983 and it would have been a shame to abandon it in the EV age. Especially since the new EV platforms allow for much more interior space. Which sounds perfect for a Minivan.

It will also be great to finally see a truly very modern-looking Minivan in the US. Something sorely lacking when compared to what is available overseas, especially in China.

  1. Stellantis is either tone deaf or stupid, I’m not sure which. If this is an American brand and an American product, they should be focusing on having a Chrysler hybrid 4dr Sedan, a new Pacifica hybrid, two hybrid SUVs….out and/or production ready concepts introduced by end of 2025. Then expand into EVs versions. Not the other way around. And they’ve had enough time for their usual wanking. No excuses.

  2. Believe what you will… but the new EV Pacifica will not give any sales a boost. Gasoline vehicles aren’t dead or going away anytime soon.

  3. It’s pretty clear that Stellantis isn’t paying attention to anyone beyond their boardroom. Chrysler was a legendary brand that’s been run straight into the ground, just like Jeep and Dodge.

They’ve done a phenomenal job of completely alienating their customer base for each of those brands. It’s truly amazing how they continue to fail and just push forward with the bad ideas.

  4. I would buy that car! I currently drive a fully loaded Pacifica, which myself and my family love. Design and functionality are great! The only downside is the MPG. I would be all in on an electric version that looks like the image in the article. Bring i lt on!!

  5. Very smart move since the Pacific Hybrid is a big success, and Stelantis doesn’t have hydrogen fuel cells yet. Make sure there is a 4WD option, then they can add H2 versions next cycle.

  6. Honestly can’t wait for more EV vans to come to market. We almost bought the Pacifica plug in hybrid because 30 miles of electric range before firing up the gas was appealing to grab the super cheap electric miles (we have 2 Leafs doing all our city miles and had a Dodge Grand Caravan for road trips. Alas, RIP Ruby, the DGC was totaled about a month ago), and transport the whole family, while also being able to handle the long road trips. Canoo is stuck in production hell, and the VW ID Buzz is the only other ev minivan option. Everything else big enough for a family of 6 comfortably is way too expensive. Model X and Rivian seem to be our only option. We are renting an X for Thanksgiving weekend to test out if we could fit all our luggage for our typical FL TX road trips.

EV’s aren’t for everyone, but they aren’t for no one either. Drive for 1000 miles, then pay for $10 in fuel for the EV or $200 for fuel for the gas car. Think about the math as you put 10,000 miles on your car each year… Next, realize you rarely travel much more than 60 miles from your home and you are typically home every night, and maybe the math starts to eat at you. Just think about it. True example, I thought EVs were dumb, till I did the math, and I now have 2 Leafs that are entirely paid for with their fuel savings.

  7. Idk how cheap electricity in FL, but her in TX you can charge half of the Tesla X battery for $10.
And if Mr. Musk didn’t lied as usual you’ll be able to drive 150 miles on it

I guess you need to revisit pre-K class before you do any more math. ‘cos you look like as lying as Mr Musk.
