Ford Mustang Mach-4 sedan.

The idea of a 4 door Mustang is not a new one. Ford had already come up with a prototype in the 1960s.
But last year, Jim Farley mentioned Ford was thinking of a few more Mustang variants in the future. Also mentioning a 4-door Mustang was a possibility.
He went on providing platitudes to appease hardcore Mustang fans like “We will never build a Mustang that isn’t a Mustang”. Or “We will never build an all-electric Mustang”. We’ll see about that in 10 or 15 years.
Or maybe even earlier. As the Mustang just had its worst year ever with only 44,000 of them sold last year. And that’s the “new” redesigned model. The previous model sold better last year and in 2022. It comes as no surprise when you actually see the “new’ Mustang up lose. (Or even in photos for that matter). It is obviously a heavy refresh and not an all-new model. And that after about 10 years! The interior has also been stripped of any Mustang personality. The screens are especially horrendous. There is no excuse. Especially after claiming things like this.
And guess what other Ford sold better than the Mustang? The Mustang Mach-E! With almost 52,000 of them sold in 2024. The Mach-E is even cheaper for 2025 with a new starting price of $38,500. Meanwhile, Ford had decided a few years ago against a hybrid Mustang coupe and they were wrong again.
Last August, we heard that Ford wanted their future lineup to concentrate on the Mustang and Bronco. That means more body styles for the Mustang and the Bronco SUV. Besides an EV or Hybrid, I’m not sure where the Bronco can go to add to the current Bronco and Bronco Sport. As for the Mustang, 4 doors seem the way to go. (Rumored to be called Mach-4). AWD? Off-road variant?
However, with sales plummeting, these plans might be revised.
You get a Mustang! And you get a Mustang! And YOUUU get a Mustang! Everyone gets a Mustang!
I was seriously interested in the “new” Mustang. Until I saw the interior. What an ugly mess!!
Farley is wrong, Ford already does build an all electric Mustang. He doesn’t even know what the low class employees build at his company.
