2027 Ford Mustang Mach-e.

The illustration above shows what a 2nd-generation Ford Mustang Mach-E EV could look like.
As you can see, the current model is scheduled to stop production in June 2026, making room for a new model starting production just the next day apparently. Until 2033. At the same time, it looks like the regular Mach-E will be joined by a new model called “Mach-E Coupe“.
The car pictured above actually looks to me more like a sleeker coupe version. And something that is closer than ever to what a 4-door Mustang should look like.
Just like most recent EVs, the Mach-E had a rough start with only around 27,000 of them sold in 2021. That number jumped to over 40,000 last year and is on its way to even more this year with over 22,000 sold so far. Q1 2024 saw a huge 77% increase in sales compared to Q1 2023.
By the end of 2026, the Mach-E will probably be evermore popular and a new generation could push sales even further. By then, the Tesla Model Y will be a 6-year-old model. One that will have gotten a slight facelift and revised interior in 2025. And one that will probably still be years away from a new generation.
The other competition will not be standing still with new generations of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 probably also scheduled for the 2027 model year.
And many more…
Ford needs a good house cleaning. Starting at the top.
