2026 Jeep Compass.

While I already posted a few (more colorful) photos of the all-new Jeep Compass, these seem to show a slightly different trim.
The front end shows more black plastic trim under the grille. Which could mean a more off-road oriented version of the new small Jeep.
It also seems to show the EV version. It is rumored to be offered as an EV, but also as a hybrid and mild-hybrid. The mild-hybrid system is basically the ICE version of the new Jeep. While the Hybrid could be a PHEV model. The new Compass uses the same STLA medium platform as the new Peugeot e-3008e in Europe. That car’s hybrid version is powered by dual electric motor systems for a total of 325 HP with a 73kWh battery for the pure EV model.
The ICE version uses a 1.2-liter engine. And the PHEV trim has a larger 1.6-liter engine. I drove a Peugeot last year while in Europe for a few days. And I don’t really have anything good to say about that small 1.2-liter engine. I really think it would be the wrong choice for our market, even as a base powertrain.
Let’s hope Jeep sticks with just offering the EV and PHEV models over here.
Apparently, we will know much more about their new Compass next week. It will soon be joined by an all-new Jeep Cherokee as well. That model will share its STLA large platform with the new Jeep Wagoneer S EV.
And how about the Jeep Recon? Where is it??? It seems it has been ‘around the corner” for a while now. We first saw a prototype back in September 2022. And a small teaser as part of a Jeep commercial with Harisson Ford a couple of months ago. The
