Ram Rampage for the US.

Last Updated:

These new patent images are rumored to show Ram‘s upcoming “compact” pickup for the North American market. As you can see, they do match exactly the Ram Rampage that has been on sale in South America since June 2023.

The Rampage is based on the same platform as the current Jeep Compass. It is one of these “compact” trucks that isn’t that small, like the Maverick. The Rampage is just about an inch shorter than the Ford. So we’re not talking about one of these “too small for America” trucks.

Sales in Brazil have jumped from around 8000 units in 2023 to 23000 last year. I guess Stellantis has figured out a way to be able to sell this in the US. The name Rampage was also trademarked in the US just a few days ago.

The new truck would also have to be built locally if it wants to avoid any kind of tariffs. The old “Chicken Tax” on foreign trucks as well as the new tariffs on anything foreign.

It seems a hybrid powertrain wouldn’t be a bad idea either. Something Stellantis is already offering in most of their models overseas.

A smaller Ram pickup has quite a potential in the US. Sales of the Ford Maverick jumped from 94,058 in 2023 to over 157,000 last year.
