Cadillac Sports Sedan
Last Updated:

Cadillac officially said it wouldn’t produce another car based on the current Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette, now being a mid-engine design, would limit what you can do.
However, if GM is still planning a high-end Ultium-based 4-door sports car using the Corvette name, they could also produce a more luxurious Cadillac version.
Cadillac has been dreaming of coming up with a sportier car for decades. They seem to have developed a taste for sportier cars a few years ago in order to chase Mercedes and BMW which I think was a mistake. You can now order about any Cadillac model in 2 separate “Sport” trims, on top of one, or even sometimes two sportier “V Series” models. Even for the Escalade.
Many want to chase the Porsche Taycan these days. And the profit margin that comes with it. Polestar is almost ready to finally show us their Polestar 5 sports sedan. And even good old Alpine is working on a Taycan competitor. It seems GM is pushing Cadillac in this direction, again with the recent “Opulent Velocity” concept.
A 4 door production version of the concept would of course have to be toned down a lot for production, and probably offer 4 door and a sedan body style. Just like the Taycan.
With the Ultium EV platform, it seems easier to produce faster cars. Most of them are faster than anyone should be driving. I guess this could be great news for the V Series future. With these super fast cars being as quiet as a Cadillac should be.
A high end 4 door sporty Cadillac woul dbe closely related to a possible 4 door Corvette EV. With its own design and interior. And especially, an even more lucrative profit margin…
Awesome 👍 outstanding magnificent Engineering and thinking by Cadillac. I love the thought 🤔 of Cadillac keeping fancy clever ideas for making & producing some of the fancier Luxurious Sedan’s. There is still a very much appreciated and very much large audience for fancy luxury Sedan’s and I still like H O performance gasoline engines
