Ford Bronco Convertible

Ford is currently moving the Bronco brand upmarket in China. By introducing a brand new, larger, more luxurious Bronco SUV available as an EV and PHEV. Why not move that brand a bit down market in the US? By introducing a smaller 2-door Bronco with a removable or foldable soft top.

Ford‘s CEO has mentioned more ethanol once the idea of “Bronco” being some sort of sub-brand for Ford by adding more models. They already have 2, the Bronco and Bronco Sport. The 3rd one might not be sold in the US. A smaller and cheaper one could be fun.

Something cheaper than the Bronco Sport with 2 small rear seats. A hybrid of PHEV would be great. However, Ford recently mentioned they could produce up to 8 new models on their new low-cost modular EV platform. Which sounds perfect for a fun-loving 2-door compact Bronco convertible. Something just for fun and cheap enough to produce.

That’s just a thought. Something like this could be a total flop or the next big thing…

Has a long time Ford salaried employee I believe that Ford is missing the boat by not providing an onboard hybrid vehicle like the 2024 Ford escape that way you don’t have to look around for charges to plug it in. You don’t have to buy a charger put in your garage or your facility And they work just great. They run on on board battery system plus fuel fossil fuel, which is something that we need to promote in this country I think Donald Trump looks at it this way too.

  4. We have a record amounts of millionaires and Billionaires now in the state’s so I don’t see the problem of people ordering this up scale full sized Broncos. Who knows that this shown Bronco doesn’t have the current recalls either. Most be of better quality because of the article statements. Ford can’t do any worse or damage itself more than it has under its current leadership.

As a boy , William Clay Ford handed my dad and his British Mr Shirley keys to a pre production 55 T Bird to take for a spin with 4 year old me standing on the front seat between these future Ford dealers who were in their 2o’s. I was hooked on Fords until there were no cars except Mustangs. We also had Lincoln Mercury, this would get me back into Ford Fever at 75 plus. This looks like American cars can be aspirational again rather than trucks or circling the low priced drain.

  9. The biggest downside of a bronco is the fact the convertible top is not automatic. It being a 2 person job to make convertible and being unable to easily put the top back on as needed is a deal breaker.

  12. As previously mentioned, the fact that removing the top is a two person job is a serious drawback.
