Buick Electra Orbit Concept.

What a pleasure it is to once in a while feature a new Buick design that isn’t an illustration of “what could be”. This is a real new concept from Buick, and it is quite stunning.
This new Buick Electra Orbit sedan shows a new design direction for the brand and one that uses quite a of retro-futuristic design cues. Which is great. It does remind me of some of these 1950s or 1960s GM space age concept cars photographed in front of the “then new” design center building..
Of course, this all-new design concept was introduced in China, which is by far the brand’s largest market. The new concept was conceived and engineered by GM’s China Advanced Design Center.
Here are some of the official words from GM’s vice president of design in China, Stuart Morris: “Electra Orbit is a bold exploration of what Buick can be when we blend heritage inspiration with visionary innovation. By reinterpreting space-age motifs and pushing electric-architecture freedoms, we wanted to create a concept that feels both familiar in its Buick DNA and thrillingly new.”
Of course, this is a pure concept car. And there will probably not be a direct production version of this. However, the 2022 Buick Wildcat concept did influence most production Buick models coming later with its all-new front end design.
Let’s hope we will finally see a large, luxurious new Buick sedan.
Something like this would make an incredible new Buick Roadmaster sedan.
Just saying…
