Future Corvette Video.

This very short video shows what the Chevrolet Corvette could become in a few years.

So far, the biggest change to the classic recipe was with the switch to a mid-engine layout a few years ago. Which seems to have been accepted pretty well by the many Corvette fans. Personally, I do miss the classic Corvette proportions of the long hood front engine layout. I also miss the circular tail lights, but these have been gone for a while now.

To me, the current Chevrolet Corvette is trying too hard to look like an Italian sports car. And I don’t really see a Corvette in there anymore.

Let’s imagine even more drastic changes for the legendary sports car. The changes the fans are probably not ready to accept. However, these vocal “fans” who are against any form of change aren’t really buying these cars. And as we all know, a 4-door or SUV, no matter how blasphemous it might be, would end up being much more popular than the classic 2-seater Chevrolet Corvette.

Just ask Porsche or even Ford. With sales of the Mustang Mach-E increasing every year, while the “regular” Mustang coupe and convertible Mustang sales numbers are lower than they’ve ever been. Of course, these Mustang fans aren’t buying a Mach-E anytime soon. But they’re not buying the classic coupe either.

There’s a reason GM canceled the Camaro: too few people were buying it. It seems to only way to increase Corvette sales numbers will be to introduce new body styles.

Get ready…

  1. I really dislike the styling of the current Corvette. It’s just trying too hard and nothing flows. And … the Mustang Coupe is a real letdown, especially the awful interior.
