Audi C Concept.

We finally get to see the full thing. The all-new Audi Concept C is supposed to preview a new model, coming out within the next 2 years.
It is larger than the Audi TT was, and will probably be much more expensive than the old TT sub-$55,000 base price. As the new car will be an EV based on the upcoming next-generation Porsche 718, which will also be an EV. And probably much more expensive than the current generation. Since, you know, Porsche seems to have found a new way to overprice their cars even more by turning them into EVs.
It took me a little while, but I really like this design. However, I also realise there isn’t much new. It still feels like something we’ve seen before from Audi. And that fake black grille up front is hard to take. Especially when something like this is not needed at all on an EV.
This is how Audi explains it: “The vertical frame forms the center of the new front, from which the entire structural volume of the vehicle develops. Inspired by the Auto Union Type C (1936) and the third-generation Audi A6 (2004), it has a clear, upright form that conveys presence and identity. It is a progressive interpretation of Audi’s legacy, showcases the Audi rings, and integrates forward-looking technology.”
I really like the interior as well, and think the idea of the screen disappearing into the dashboard when you don’t need it is still a good one. Something Audi, as well s Cadillac and others, were doing years ago. The other screen behind the steering wheel is also very well integrated into the dashboard design.
Let’s hope the production model stays pretty close to this. I remember the production version of the first-generation Audi TT being actually better looking than the concept was.
