Chrysler Imperial Sedan.

Stellantis claims to have big plans for Chrysler. We already know a brand new mid-sized SUV will probably come first. Which is pretty logical. With both hybrid and EV powertrains. Then a heavily revised Pacifica minivan and an EV version later. Although the EV plans are still in flux after the Charger EV debacle…
Chrysler has also dropped a few hints about a possible new sedan based on the Halcyon concept. Something to replace the good old Chrysler 300.
But what if the brand decided to go a bit upmarket? Stellantis wants Chrysler to experiment with segments not represented by any of their other brands. A really large, luxury sedan for the US would be a very nice way to “experiment”. Something that could compete against Cadillac’s upcoming EV sedan.
The illustration shows a retro-futuristic design of a very large sleek new sedan. It even has a spilt rat window which is a crazy idea. Using a few older design cues here and there is what Lee Iacocca started doing in the 80s. Something that wasn’t for everyone but still turned out to be very, very popular for many years.
A brand new Chrysler Imperial that would look almost as decadent as they used to.
In a world of bigger and bigger SUVs, a large luxury sedan wouldn’t be out of place at all. The new 2025 Dodge Charger EV is over 206 inches long. Which is about the same as a Mercedes S-Class. Just adding a few inches would produce one impressive-looking sedan. One that could still be much more affordable than its competition from Germany. A large luxury STLA-based EV sedan competing with the Lucid Air, Mercedes EQS, and BMW i7. For less…
I’ve posted a few illustrations showing future large Cadillac and Lincoln sedans, but a Chrysler would have to be less expensive, just like Chryslers are supposed to be. The brand does have quite a glorious past and I think it’s time to use some of it for inspiration for a few future models.
Meanwhile, we’ll probably never see one of these again. And if we ever see another Chrysler Imperial, it will probably be a huge SUV competing with the Cadillac Escalade, and not a real sedan…
