2027 Chevrolet Bolt.

GM just unveiled the “new” Chevrolet Bolt a few days ago, and there is some odd news about it. It seems Chevrolet is officially describing it as a “limited-run model”.
“Bolt will offer the most range in an EV under $30,000. It will begin shipping to customers early next year and will be a limited-run model. Bolt joins the Chevrolet Equinox EV, currently one of the market’s best-selling EVs, solidifying Chevy’s position in the affordable EV segment. Together, Bolt and Equinox EV are expected to account for most of Chevrolet’s 2026 EV volume.”
Someone this Limited-run model would also be one of their best-selling EVs?
Scott Bell from Chevrolet goes on saying: “After production ended, we heard our customers’ feedback and their love for this product. So the Bolt is coming back-by popular demand and better than ever-for a limited time. This is a celebration of what Bolt means to our customers and to Chevrolet. It’s your chance to own a popular EV that’s affordable. So, if you’ve been waiting, this is the moment. Don’t miss it.”
Are they really making just a few of these? And why??
It seems the $30,000 EV market is just starting up in the US. With new models like the 2026 Nissan Leaf, and more coming from other manufacturers.
GM also mentioned a while ago that the new Bolt would be one member of a new “Bolt Family”. Which would probably include some kind of a truck to compete with Ford’as all -all-new, low-cost platform-based pickup.
Still, A limited run of the revised Bolt is just a bit weird…
