2027 Chevrolet Bolt.
Last Updated:

As we already know, the “new” Chevrolet Bolt for 2027 is not a new car.
Instead, it is a facelifted version of the “old” Chevrolet Bolt. With a new front end, revised rear lights, and redesigned interior. However, most of the tech underneath is new. With a new 65kWh battery good for 255 miles of range and a new 210HP motor from the Equinox EV. Itla so comes with a Tesla-style NACS charger.
The price is even better than ever, with the cheapest LT trim coming at $29,000.
The main issue is that it basically looks the same as the Chevrolet Bolt EUV that came out in 2021. Which itself looked a lot like the 2017 Bolt to begin with. At least, the new Nissan Leaf looks like the all-new car that it is. And much more modern than the 2027 Bolt inside and out.
We are still waiting for the Kia EV3 in the US. Another small EV that will look much better than the aging Bolt.
Pricing is really good, but again, not better than the new Leaf. And it seems some features from the previous Bilt, like the panoramic roof, won’t be available anymore.
I guess this is a cheap way for GM to get into the “$30,000 EV” market in the US. A market that will soon expand with many new offerings. These will be true all-new cars that will make the 2027 Bolt look and feel even older than it is now.
TECHNICIANS ARE VERY GOOD AT THERE VEHICLE JOBS.
The old Chevy Bolt had Apple CarPlay. This one doesn’t.
I really need them to add that back or I’m never returning to GM.
That interior is nasty. You can tell the dashboard went back to hard plastics, and they got rid of the center console and opened up the floor like the original Bolt. The only “wins” for me are the faster charging, an RS trim, and the price basically staying the same despite 4 years
I’m not worried about it having the same body-in-white. GM made it look modern. The weird touchscreen is a miss. And hopefully it has a regular sunroof – I hate panoroofs. They cost more to insure, they’re loud in heavy rain, and they bake your head in summer. I think GM might have a winner here in the entry BEV market.
The bashing of this new Bolt isn’t justified. It offers a lot of features and tech at it’s price point. Sure, the styling doesn’t break new ground… but at this price, most buyers won’t care.
