Genesis GV90 will be a Korean Escalade IQ.

Remember when Hyundai/Kia concepts were so wild that they never really previewed any production model? These days are long gone. It seems the 2024 Genesis Neolun concept was a very accurate preview of next year’s Genesis GV90 luxury EV SUV.

The photo above looks like it could have been taken at some press preview, somewhere. It shows all the current Genesis lineup of SUVs, gas, and EVs. I notice there is no sedan in the lineup for some reason. And we can see 2 units of the new GV90. Which could mean 2 different wheelbases, just like the Cadillac Escalade IQ.

There will probably not be any Hybrid or gas version of the new Genesis available. Since it is based on Hyundai’s new eM EV platform. So it is not really a stretched Ioniq 9 either. The new GV90 will also offer coach doors (AKA Suicide doors). Which should be quite impressive.

The GV90 will quite quite large and heavy, but the new EV platform is rumored to be even more efficient than the current one. That could also mean a very generous EV range.

Or maybe the image above isn’t real? Who knows these days? However, it does match the many spy shots we have already seen of the new Genesis SUB over the past year.

One thing we already know, it will be expensive. Its main competition in the US, the Cadillac Escalade IQ, starts at over $130,000.

  1. The production version in white sort of has the proportions of a hearse. Hopefully, it really doesn’t end up looking like one.

I know crossovers and SUVs are super popular, but it’s a shame that other vehicle body styles are being almost completely phased out. I miss the vehicle variety that was offered in my youth.
