2027 Lexus NX.

The top image is obviously an illustration based on an official photo from Lexus (bottom). It shows a weird cross between a heavy mid-cycle refresh and a brand new design for the next-generation Lexus NX.

The current, second generation, Lexux NX came out in June 2021. For some reason, it seems much older to me. I think it’s just because the current model looks so much like the previous one from 2014. Even though it is based on a different platform, both designs are so similar that it barely looked like a new model when it came out.

I am sure Lexus isn’t that much in a hurry to replace the current generation since it seems to be even more popular every year. However, it will probably be new sometime next year. And might look more like an SUV version of the new ES sedan. A controversial design indeed, that redefines the idea of “Lexus luxury”. With zero chrome and a very angular, almost blunt, modern shape.

I personally don’t think the next ES will be as popular as the previous one. As it seems Lexus decided not to care about their current customers anymore.

The next NX might be closely related to the new 2026 Toyota RAV-4. With a hybrid powertrain standard. It seems the new ES platform would be more appropriate for the next Lexus RX, which is a larger model. However, Lexus may be able to offer an EV version of the next NX. There were rumors of a new EV version of the 2026 RAV-4 a few months before its launch.
