Nissan Leaf Test Drive Video.

A few weeks ago I had the chance to drive a new Nissan Leaf for a week. While I’ve already posted a review, I hope this short video is a bit more entertaining.

The Leaf is of course a vast improvement over the previous generation. And it is one of the rare EV available in the US for around $30,000. Besides the Chevrolet Bolt I guess. However, the new Kia EV3 is right around the corner and could become tough competition for the little Nissan.

The car I drove was a loaded Platinum Plus for around $42,000. Which isn’t cheap anymore. For a car that starts at around $30,000. I personally think the cheaper models are the better ones and also have a longer range of up to 318 miles. The one I drove tops at 259 thanks to larger tires…

The Leaf is fun to drive and is trying hard to be much more podern than the previous one. And it is.

However, at around $42,000, the top of the line Leaf is dangerously close in price to the RWD Limited version of the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Which is a much better car. Roomier, quieter, more comfortable and even better equiped. The Ioniq 5 is just a class above the Leaf. I would personally spend the extra $4000 or so for such a better car myself. But who am I…

  1. If I’m going to sit in the backseat of that from LA to SF, I’m going to need a blender.
