2020 Toyota Corolla Sedan (US)
Last Updated:
These are the first official pictures of the all-new Corolla sedan for the US.
The L, LE and XLE versions will get the familiar 1.8 Liter engine with 139HP.
While the SE and XSE will be getting the 2.0 Liter from the hatchback with 169HP.
The 1.8 Liter models get 16-inch wheels while the 2.0 Liter get 18 inches.
So far it does look OK. But as usual, the all-new Mazda3 might be an amazing competition. For both the sedan and hatchback.
Here is the full Corolla line up for other countries.
Since we are not getting the cool looking wagon version in the US…
Guess the hatchback wasn't wrong in predicting this is a major stylistic step backward.. doors seem narrower, plastic black triangles on both ends of the greenhouse, and messier and far less modern rear end integration than the current model. They'll still sell every one they send, and we'll be forced to look at them.
Is it just me, or does the profile look almost exactly like the 2010 Lexus HS?
Why do we get the ugliest version of any shown so far?! That front end is awful and so much worse than the ones being sent to other countries.
I've seen nothing but criticism of the Avalon grille, and here they are slapping a similar treatment on the poor Corolla. Once upon a time Toyota had such clean designs that were almost timeless (think 90's Camry), and now…this. What are they thinking?
Yuck! Looks like a refresh. NO THANKS!
Still has the oversized big fish open mouth front end! Not an attractive look! The opening takes up the entire 3/4 of the front end. I would avoid this new Coralla because of the front end style.
Nov 15 @ 7:43 PM, it's just you.
I threw up a little in my mouth when I saw that awful front end. What is Toyota thinking with that thing??? The Chinese front is much better, though still on the ugly side.
The China one looks way better.
The Hatch looks far better on the new Corolla. The Sedan is ugliest in it's class, both inside and out by far. A definite fail.
Now that’s ugly.
Toyota is stubborn about using that horrible gaping maw grill. The interior is very sleek, clean, and stylish.
What an angry-looking front end!
I agree with the above comments, the Chinese version is much better looking, almost like a small Lexus. What gives with the gaping maw? Does anyone actually like this look?
The huge grille is awful, it always is.
The side profile is underwhelming at best, it already looks cheap.
Too bad, missed opportunity
I like it. More attractive than current model.
Big improvement, like it or not, you will see thousands of these on the road. Get used to it.
Modern Jaguar sedans and SUV have large open keep look grilles but nobody says anything. I think this looks nice, just wish it has all wheel drive for where I live.
Did Toyota have to pay Jay Leno a licensing fee to put his gigantic chin on the front of the new Corolla?
Attractive, reliable, and, from what I read, with improved ride and driving dynamics. 18” wheels will be the icing on the cake too. How can someone go wrong here? And for the crowd that came to this blog to just bash enything and everything, when you criticize a design, why don’t you tell us what you like and at what price range?
Maybe they'll finally put a new engine and transmission in it. Nah.. this is Toyota!
Wake me when the next generation lands….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
