2018 Cadillac XTS
Last Updated:
These are the first casual pictures I see of the 2018 XTS.
I still think the XTS looks better than the CT6. Especially in profile.
While the new front end doesn’t seem to really ruin it, these new rear lights are just a but too much on the side of weird.
I have no idea what these bottom horizontal extensions to the tail lights are for.
It just looks odd. Either go all the way through the width of the car, or just don’t do it at all.
Don't agree. I think the horizontal extension of the rear tail lights are a much better look than the odd inverted Y-shaped headlight array. I think the CTS headlights are the best expression of the Cadillac headlight design concept so far but still not ideal
I own a 2013 CTS-V and just can't stand Caddy's current design ethos on the CT6 (an otherwise outstanding vehicle) and XT5, and I guess now XTS. Those rear lights for some reason scream 80's Oldsmobile to me. Cadillac can't redo their current vehicles fast enough for my tastes.
They've lost the plot. Once a facelift resorts to squircles you know they're done. Time to totally reinvent Cadillac's design languange.
Cadillac's sedan problems started when they introduced the ATS and made the CTS larger and more expensive in 2014. If they had introduced the larger CTS as a new car (and the ATS as the CTS redesign), there would not have been the perception of a price increase and dramatic change to the CTS. The ATS looked more like the previous CTS model. I think the price increase was why the 2014 CTS did not sell well, even though it is a great looking car- arguably the best looking Cadillac (so I bought it). But that design existed for 1 year only. Starting in 2015, the badge, grill and headlight modifications have ruined these cars. The new badge looks like a Chevrolet. And the CT6 is just bland. New XTS headlights look like amoebas. GM will be the last one to realize that their new Cadillac CEO has ruined the car brand. Time to fire him and start over. Bring back the wreath and a subtle egg crate grill.
