Opel Insignia Country Tourer

A while ago, GM’s product boss Marc Reuss was quoted saying:
“I still think no one’s offering a really good, affordable, fun, good looking, fun to drive wagon at a reasonable price point…
There’s a lot of wagons in the market, but they’re all really expensive and there’s a lot of people that can’t afford that, and I think there is an opportunity here”
First, I don’t think “there’s a lot of wagons in the market”. (Not in the US market)
Second, how about selling us the one you are already making. Like the Insignia Tourer!
Many people have said for years that this would make a great Regal Wagon.
This looks like a bad case of “PR BS” from GM.
Quit complaining about the US not getting a cool wagon when you’re already building one.
Amazing….
They build quite few! But I know you are aware of the Cruze Wagon as well because of your recent post about it. It's a sad world of CUV domination. I don't want an Equinox or Encore!!!

To me, the Cruze wagon is quite boring. Not at all what I would describe as "fun".
Plus, the Cruze is new next year and they already said a hatchback version is coming over here.
But the Regal drives great. A wagon of that car has to be good. And I think it looks great too. So much better than the Outback….
I decent car that could go against tha VW Jetta Sportwagen. Too easy, GM is too busy covering up deaths from ignition switch failures to notice some people still like wagons. With GM around, VW has nothing to worry about.
The Regal would make a fantastic wagon. The only real competitors currently are offered by Subaru. Even though they are called "crossovers" they really are just wagons. The Jetta wagon doesn't sell in meaningful numbers. And VW doesn't really promote it too heavily.
While I agree and think the Mazda6 wagin would also be a welcome addition in the U.S., I am not sure that wagons will actually sell well here. I love hot hatches and cool wagons myself, but I think I am in the majority.
That would make a classy, upscale Buick wagon.
