2014 Maserati Ghibli
Last Updated:
The Quatroporte’s little brother is finally here.
All we know so far is that 2 turbocharged V6 engines will be available. (One is the Euro only Diesel)
And it has an 8 speed Automatic.
RWD is standard and a new “Q4” AWD system will be an option.
Same "ZF-Chrysler" 8-speed you get in a BMW 7, 6 & 5-series; and Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger & Challenger; and now Dodge Durango. It's a major reason all these 300++/- HP Monsters are getting 25-34 MPG–even with 4-Wheel Drive. It is to today's technology what the Chrysler Torqueflight was to Massarati's & Imperials in the 1960's & 1970's (aka, the standard by which all other transmissions are judged). Not only was the torqueflight the fastest tranny around–it was the worlds most reliable for over 20 years. Indications so far are that the new 8-speed is just as reliable, efficent & fast! It's nice to see big cars getting FUN again!!!
I'm not sure what it is, but when I see this picture…all I see is a Nissan/Infiniti
Absolutely nothing distinctive about this vehicle
im pretty sure thats the new Hyundai Sonata
Admittedly… It's almost impossible not to see a certain 'similarity' between this and the Infiniti M-Series, but it's also a great deal better looking/proportioned than the (rather ungainly) 2014 Quatroporte.
Maserati only had to mimic the style of the coupe. That was all. Now they are just getting ugly. The inside though not bad, the center nav center console design straight out of other Chrysler products
If only Buick was doing such cars…
Would rather have a 300.
The front is OK, I guess, although it's really just an iteration of the corporate look. I guess that today's super-rich aren't risk-takers (maybe they kept their money in bonds during the financial crisis).
The rear is shamefully generic, and that goes double for an Italian car. It's basically just a Kia with a chrome strip that says Maserati. Is that really the best they can do?
This is a copy of the Infiniti up above
