2013 Mitsubishi Outlander

Last Updated:

This really doesn’t seem like much of an improvement.
At least, design wise. The current model looks just fine.
Actually still modern.
The problem with the Outlander is everything else.

It’s hard to tell about the interior quality on these pictures.
The 3rd row seats seem to be just a little bit better than the horrific ones in the current version. But not by much.

And it’s impossible to tell yet if the whole thing feels more solid, especially the tiny sounding doors.

Not sure what they are really thinking. They need more than small improvements to get people to even consider the Outlander against the competition.

Good luck….

  1. Suzuki sold this vehicle in 2007. It's called the XL7. It was a dog then. This fugly Mitsubishi is a dog now.

  2. Wow, Japanese cars still look like this??????? This reminds me of that fugly Toyota Van from the 80's.

  3. Vince, it honestly is like Mitsubishi is trying their hardest to go out of business.

They are ditching the Endevour, Eclipse, and most importantly, the Galant. What a stupid, stupid move. They are just going to rely on the Lancer which has always been a lackluster, noncompetitive car.

I still think they will leave the US market within 5 years.

    False.

The XL-7 was a Chevy Equinox in drag, not an Outlander. Check Wikipedia if you don't believe me.

  4. Apparently Mitsu's "Evo" design was to be short lived. I fear for the next Lancer…

The Galant had so much potential, but they starved it to death.

  5. You would do well to buy the exising model now before it runs out. This new model looks terrible and bloated. Whats with that grille? The Ford Edsel grille looks better.

  6. The current Galant was uncompetative when it came out, cheap interior, ugly exterior & horrid resale value & qualaity. good riddance that p.o.s. is going away.

  7. In the 80s and early 90s, Mitsubishi was one of the most forward-thinking youthful brands on the market. Now, not so much. I don't believe they are long for this world…. or at least this continent.

  8. Someone said this thing is supposed to get 3.1ltr per 100km of fuel economy…I can't understand how – has anyone heard that?
