2013 Dodge Dart

Last Updated:

These are the first official pictures of the all new Dodge compact sedan.
Not full pictures of the whole car, but much better than some teasers from other manufacturers.
At least we can see something.
And so far, it does look great.

This will have no problem competing with the new Focus sedan and the Chevrolet Cruze.
And it is the first US Chrysler model based on a Fiat platform. Also used for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
18 inch wheels will be available.
Engine options will include a new 2.0 Liter called Tigershark, the 1.4 Liter Turbo already used in the new Fiat 500 Abarth (In which it produces 160hp)
as well as a new larger MultiAir 2.4 Liter .

Looks like modern engineering and great design might be back in a Dodge compact sedan. Thanks to Fiat.

Much more very soon.

  1. Yes… I was hoping that they'd someday revive the DART name, and it looks like they chose a pretty nice design to resurrect it on.

  2. Here's to hoping the musclecar crowd doesn't complain that the name wasn't saved for some mythical rear-drive V-8 retromobile that will never get built.

ALso, here's to hoping an SRT4 is made of this.

  3. Really happy that they are using the Dart name, it was the last compact from Dodge that had any quality to it. This does look teally competitive, especially if it handles like an Alfa.

You hit that right on the head, Soul Brother.. too bad those same retards can't come to grips with the Charger name being applied to a muscular sedan, especially considering they kept silent when the Challenger and Charger names were applied to relatively anemic subcompacts in the Eighties.

  5. I have an Alfa-Romeo Giulietta with the 170bhp 1.4 MultiAir engine. Trust me, this Dodge will blow the competition out of the water – you Americans have never had a car like this. Ride & handling that are surreally brilliant, unbelievable power and low down torque from this outstanding engine that manages to feel like a 3.0 V6 but return over 40mpg without even trying. I drive it hard every day up and down mountain roads and fail to get worse than 30mpg even when really thrashing it. In the corners it appears to break the laws of physics. Compared to the "compacts" that you have over there this is an absolute game changer.

  6. I'm sure there is more detailing to be done to this vehicle as it has no rear bumper reflectors which are now mandated.

  7. As one of the loyal Dodge musclecar guys, I think it's a great car. They have desperately needed a little car to compete with the Focus, Cruze, etc. and give them some volume and they managed to package it up in something that speaks right to the heart of people who like Dodge cars – it has a very distinctive, aggressive style that seems to work well. It took Daimler to give us the Charger and Challenger, kudos to Fiat for creating a very American looking small car for Dodge.

And anyone who loves Dodge would tell you that the original Dart was, in its day, an economy car first, so this is actually a very appropriate use of the name.

Just one request… stick shift please!

  8. Front end looks similar to the vw sirocco which is far from bad. Rear end looks great as well. Hopefully this will look great

Wait a sec. You drew these conclusions from these photos? You are either nuts or work for Dodge…

  10. The Dart name was enough to get the car mentioned on the news. This means it must be something special.
