Mitsubishi i in the US?

Mitsubishi is actually thinking about bringing over the tiny iCar in the US.
Maybe with a “larger’ 1.0 Liter engine. ( It currently uses a smaller 660 CC engine)
It has been on sale in Japan since 2006, but still looks really original.
And compared to the Smart, it seats 4.
Here is an interesting test drive of the version sold in England.
So why not.
Price could be expected to start at around $12 000.
Would you consider one?
Actually, yeah, despite my general distaste for Mitsu. I think it would be way practical. I wonder what it's crash test results were? That might be the determining factor.
And when I say 'distaste for Mitsu' I mean the current range. They had some cool cars in the past. I thought they were once considered Japan's BMW… what happened?

And about it seating four: bear in mind that this car is 70 cm (about 26 inches) longer than a Smart. It's small, but not Smart small.
No, but there might be a market for a quality micro/mini???? car which the smart is not. With a 1.0 you could actually take it on the open road.
The Swift years ago came with a 1.0 liter engine and it sold.
I would never buy a Mitsubishi product anyway.

Mitsubishis are crap and always have been.
Toyotas have only recently became crap.
I'd rather have a Toyota.
In no way better then a Tata Nano.
Nano looks better and better price too then this crap.
Could be good for UK buyers but not for us.
I'm thinking about going to the UK and buy one. They have the steering on the wrong side, but I hope that won't bother me too much.
All the safety & security of a Motorcycle with all the sex appeal and thrill of a concrete truck. The worst of all worlds. The US economy is goining to have to get a heck of a lot worse before Americans resort to "making do" with these tiny "A" cars.
I don't think that ANY of these micro cars will do well in the USA. People are getting used to the, about, $3.00/gal price of fuel and they still like larger vehicles. I don't even see that many Smart vehicles on the road anymore. I would'nt by it myself, regardless of brand. I'd rather have a nice, larger yet still efficient USED car for the price.
The U.S. will need to ban every fastfood place in america if they ever expect people to buy these here.
Unless gas price is inching toward $5.00, then I would consider the Toyota iQ, Mercedes Smart and this Mitsu i.
