Toyota Sai
Last Updated:
I mentioned this car a few times before.
But this is the 1st time we get a real picture of it.
The 2 illustrations I posted before showed basically a Lexus HS 250 with a Toyota front end.
But Toyota execs have mentioned since that the all new Sai would have its own interior and exterior design.
It seems to be so from the picture.
So it won’t just be a Toyota version of the Lexus, or a sedan version of the Prius, but its own car. Above the Prius.
They haven’t mentioned yet if the Sai will make it to the US. But they didn’t say no…

With that big chrome grill and quad round headlights; I was thinking that this would be the all-new (albieit RETRO) Chevy NOVA!!! …For the southern US Redneck market. …Assembled in Alabama from Korean toyota parts (like Pontiac Vibe) Each one comes with a case of Red, White, & Blue premium pilsner beer and a super-low sticker price. Mabey with an overpriced version having a color-keyed grill and swept-back composite front lamps for the intellectual-moron market (Ivy League'rs in the North East Us). With "MADE IN JAPAN" stamped on every window sticker– so they KNOW it has high-quality to justify the big price. (remeniscent of the Toyota Matrix). That versio could be built in an abondonded GM plant in the US.
Wow, so if they are really thinking about selling this in the US, for it to be successful, it needs to be susstantially less expensive than the HS. It puts it in do-able territory between the Prius and Camry Hybrid.
rear looks very nissan
i could be wrong but in my mind Toyota must finish there new plant at Blue Springs, MS very quick. They have already 400,000 pre-orders for the Prius and when they add the "Sai Sedan" in the near future the waiting list will getting longer and longer. Prius and SAI should be built at Blue Springs. Come on Toyota!
what can you say about the next GM, give 'em ten mores years of this crap and they will back to toyoda loom works.
I can't believe people would buy that ugly thing if it got 100mpg! If we have to have electric cars why make it ugly?
It looks like the car in the second set of pictures on this page:
