2011 Lexus GX Interior
Last Updated:
The top picture is the new Lexus GX.
Its cousin, the Toyota Prado is pictured at the bottom, with the black interior.
And for once, it looks like the Lexus version is getting its own, and much better, interior.
So Lexus is indeed making an effort to distance the Lexus version from the almost identical Toyota.
Again, that’s really the least they can do, the Lexus starts at about $60 000 in the US…
Thanks to a reader for this.
It think the reason is that there is now a Lexus brand in Japan. I would imagine the Japanese consumers would not want to pay more for the same Toyota model.
At least here, we don't get the Harrier, the Prado etc. so Toyota could 'fool' us by slapping on the Lexus emblem and suped it the interior a bit.
"Much better interior?" The new GX interior looks like something from an 1980's pickup.
We don't need GM. Toyota/Lexus has copied the old Oldsmobile/Buick branding concept to a "T".
Well, the Lexus version does look a little better. I see they did the Lincoln MXS thing to the top of the dash. That's a pretty square themed steering wheel they got there.
Let's see … watchind paint dry, or driving a Lexus.
Hmmm. Decisions decisions.
This may be nicer than a Prado interior, but it's not as impressive as even an Expedition or Navigator. And sadly, the Expedtion would be a more engaging drive than the Lexus.
Dashboard design is a bit blocky and old fashioned. Where's the inspiration?
I would drive them first before making comparisons…the GX has done pretty well in reviews, perhaps the new one will do similarly.

I'd rather have an Expedition as well and save $20,000.
why the hack they dont bring Toyota Landcruiser prado here at a cheaper price instead of Lexus GX at sky high prices.
Lexus is crazy expensive….
TOyota trucks rocks..
I hope they really bring Toyota Landcruiser prado here in diesel as in Middle east.
The steering wheel looks like a homely disaster done up in cheap plastic. The brutish center stack needs a more free-flowing redesign. I wish Toyota would use brushed metal instead of this painted plastic tripe, it looks so downscale.
