Chrysler/Lancia link= Delta in the US???
Last Updated:
Chrysler just announced their new Boss. Mr.Olivier Francois will be the new head of Chrysler, as well as running Lancia.
They also mentioned that both brands will share product platforms.
The most obvious one will be a new top of the line Lancia sedan based on the next Chrysler 300 platform. Which also be used for a big Alfa.
They need more than that. Chrysler needs attractive cars now. Right now!
How about selling the new Lancia Delta as a Chrysler?
the Delta is one of the most intersting design from Europe right now. And the upscale feel of the car would make a great Chrysler.
If they really want to make Chrysler a luxury brand, they could have the car competing with the Audi A3.
Leave Dodge to fight the Focus and Civic.
The could do this within less than 2 years, which is still a long time. But it’s better than nothing.. Right?
What do you think???
God no! I'm all for the consolidation of Lancia and Chrysler but Lancia's current vehicles are ugly and not much better than the current Chrysler lineup. If Chrysler makes it to 2012, there should be a new 300 and Sebring/200 so why bother trying to federalize dated Lancias?
This looks good in black, never mind the brown colured one.
Bingo Vince!
However, definitely needs a new front end, and that is a big IF they make it to 2012.
BLACKLASER…like the old murano in the back.

that's the problem, you give chrysler any decent looking car, they will destroy it by adding their own lame design element into it and make it into a failure
Helloooooo…Chrysler displayed some amazing concepts that looked production ready. What's the point of selling rebadge Murano looking Lancia's. They spent so much on concepts showing the public what they had planed. If they want to save money just use an existing platform and reconfigure the concept to fit. How hard could it be to be original instead of selling a 6 year old design.
I think that could work. Modern fresh design with a nice interior.
Of course by the time Chrysler gets their hands on it they will ruin it though. Rubbermaid plastics in the interior and goofy design elements like the poster above said.
It looks a lot like the first generation Murano. IMO that's a good thing…
No. the front is too ugly and the back looks like a squished-up Nissan Murano.
I thougth it was the Infinti EX. If it was a Hyundai people would say they were copying. Honda Copies too.
I don't get it? Why negative feedback on the next Tucsan? But nothing about this copying the Murano? So it's alright for everyelse to copy but not for Hyundai. Your right Hondas copy too. Acuras copy too.
here in europe, nobody would actually consider the delta competing with an A3. it looks good and it is well made, but its still a fiat, and you can feel and see it when you sit in it ( what i've done on the IAA) . well made and well put together, but far away from an A3 .
Id rather have this over a Hyundai.
It looks like Hyundai copied this for the Tucson.
I really like the Delta. I do think many Italians may perceive it as an A3 and series 1 competitor (even though it's larger than either of them), but Lancia is not that popular outside Italy. However, Lancia's designs (like Alfa's) are supposed to be distinctive, and I would be very surprised if Fiat cheapened them by rebadging them. Then again, Chrysler's situation is quite desperate, so you might have a point…
Fiat will bring some great cars to Chrysler lineup. I think Fiat is in for some awakening as the typical Chrysler is a die hard buy US Big Box cars only and not progressive to accept new Euro style autos. the demographic profile has also been crushed by the economy more than others.
This ain't no Hyundai it's a Chrysler. Like how they copied the Rollsroyce and called it the 300c.

The A3 is a Golf, let's get real here. There is nothing about that vehicle to write home about.

I'd rather have a Hyundai, it is undoubtedly more reliable than the Lancia/Fiat which ranks at the bottom of the chain in European reliability studies.
listen and listen closely, you will learn something because i am arrogant and smarter than most, yes you included. Throughout the history of Man, the Italians have led in music , art, wine and food. So, if you don't like what you see, the question is what is wrong with you? you must have a bad eye, or a poor perception of art. Study it and if you don't love it, for goodness sake, don't tell anyone, how embarassing for you!
ummm yeah Giovanni
we do agree that Italian women are very sexy. But the average US Chrysler buyer likes them about 4ft tall, no teeth and flat heads to rest his beer can on. He really wants that Chrysler Stratus to up his status.

my fine american friends, don't be scared or intimidated because I am sooo good. Arrogance becomes me, you should see how handsome I am. Anyway, take a nice glass of Vino (Italian)and relax. You will soon realize that not only am I always right, but you will realize there is no need or place for anger or agression. I know it's your way, but trust me, my way is always better.
Hahaha this guys a real comedian.
Have you ever auditioned for saturday night live??
I would rather have a Pacifica than this euro goof mobile.
Italian women are really sexy when they are under age 25…..As long as they don't talk.
Dude
The California wines have Italy beat as of 1999
