Driving a car without a radio…

I had no idea how much I was used to play music in the car. Or radio. Or anything!
This really sucks!

Do they still have regular radio, AM and FM, available in new vehicles? Most people do not use it or care. This also goes for CD players. Both are OBSOLETE in todays world. MP3, MP4 and Ipods are the only way to go! Oops, almost forgot XM Sirius satellite radio.
I knew a kid in high school that drove a Corsica, had a factory radio plate like that too, just unreal.
Base Level Nissan Versa
What did that save…like $200? It probably cost more for them to leave it out!
You can always turn on the hazards and listen to the clicks
Vince, the Versa is an absolute piece of shit.
Why are you even driving that??? If you want to buy a new budget vehicle, the Accent is your best bet. It actually has nice driving dynamics and isn’t ugly as sin. Plus it comes with a great warranty.
Isn’t most Scion come like that so customers can put in what they want?
I disagree with the first poster. Most people still listen to FM and play CD in their vehicles. MP3 and Ipod are usually relegate to long distance travel or for the younger gen.
Just wanted to see what it’s like to drive one of the cheapest car available. For a week.
The only option on this is air.
Vince, why don’t you put your dick inside the radio slot area and get a life?
at least it has speakers, right? lol. does it have crank up windows too. lol.
so how much is this car cost? a factory radio with AM/FM and a single CD probably costs them 100.00 to put in and can charge $150.00 for it.
To buy one and have the shop puts one in probably would cost you over $200.00 (again a cheapo radio.
Well it lets you put in whatever aftermarket you want.
gotta love the versa 1.6
Radio sucks anyway…Its for jackasses.
2010 will actually be the very last year for any major company to manufacture audio CD discs to be sold as music albums anywhere in the world. Only small independent companies will remain for a few years after that. DVD’s will also stop being manufactured as well.

Idiot.
CDs still represent a billion dollar industry for music. As long as there is money, they will still be made.
DVDs still outsell Bluray 20:1.
CD’s and DVDs aren’t dead yet. They have another decade to go at least…..they JUST stopped selling movies on VHS and stopped production of all VHS tapes….luckily the supply is still abundant and I picked up some blank VHS tapes at Wal-Mart the other day to record tv on my Pre-Tivo VCR!
The person who cried ‘Idiot’ in the previous comment should think again! I will really hate to see the demise of audio CD’s as well, but as in the past 78 and 16 RPM records were the first to go. Then 8 track tapes and reel to reel tapes vanished. 45 RPM records fell off the face of the earth, even though they made billions for the record industry and were once the top dog for music sales! Cassettes were popular even though their sound quality left a great deal to be desired! Then came 5 inch CD’s and the ill fated CD 3 inch singles, which never caught on! Another fruitless formant was the CD-V and they were praised as the next industry standard! Does anyone remember the mini-disc, which was fully enclosed so as not to damage the playing surface? They were to be the next big thing but failed miserably! USB albums have not flown off of store shelves either. Downloading music off your computer has already begun to destroy the music CD as we know it,whether we like it or not. People are lazy and want things the easiest way possible! They can listen to what they want to on their MP3’s and I-pods (which they can take anywhere with them) and not have to go out of their way to a store to get what they want to listen to.
very basic , very cheap, still 100% better than a Cadillac interior.
Clarion makes a double-DIN radio that looks like the Versa factory stereo but is probably much better for $200 MSRP; a similar $300 unit includes Bluetooth built-in. See Crutchfield.com.
