This car really starts to grow on me. Even though there is absolutely nothing original about it.
Basically a mix of many other designs. Even the interior looks like an Infiniti with new Murano details.
Yet, the overall feeling seems of pretty high quality and appeal.
The one pictured here seems to have a “no wood” interior. Like a piano black finish.
Maybe an SE version, or something.
I think this is the kind of car that actually look much more impressive in person. But again, I am not really sure what the competition is.
If anyone here knows who to contact at Nissan, I’d be glad to drive one ASAP and report…
Saw it in person at the NY auto show. The bland, but stately profile is literally interrupted by the ridiculously goofy front end. The interior of this Maxima is much better than Nissan’s historically sub-Hyundai quality (i.e. nasty) accommodations. Thankfully Nissan got rid of the dumb and pointless piggybank coin-slot sunroof. But it’s barely status quo and it is not going to be a threat to any other carmaker.
great look, great interior, great engine, fair priced (probably), wrong wheel drive.
the north american companies and north american public are all still under the belief that anything RWD ABSOLUTELY NEEDS to be placed under a seperate nameplate with a dramatically increased MSRP, and failure to do so will result in the total destruction of mankind.
Really, Vince? Do we need yet ANOTHER post on the Maxima? This is like the 5th or 6th post you’ve done for this car and even though you say it’s not original and there’s nothing special about this car, it sure doesn’t sound like it based on the attention you’ve been giving it…

Its kinda boring, and what is with those big honking vents on the dash? Thats the equivalent of an airconditioning unit in a window!
Enough is enough. All the pictures in the world won’t make a silk purse out of this sow’s ear.
Thing I don’t like about the new Maxima is how the front lights wrap into the side fenders. The split between the top and the bottom of the headlight looks awkward.
