The car is too wide, and the front end is one of the worst in years.

BTW, IMHO, this car could Easily been rebadged as a Firebird…IF they can do it with the Cobolt/G5, they sure as heck can do it with the Camaro…

Yep. Too wide, thick, heavy, brutish, inelegant and cartoonish. The original was elegant, lithe, svelte, and shapely (at least this one manages the latter).
Now they need to work on a retro 57′ Chevy.

The best looking car I have seen in a while, “All American” design, this is one beautiful automobile. It will bring the Camaro back with a bang, this nameplate has been missed and mourned, you been too long coming, baby, too long coming.
Man I so want to trade my Mustang in for this car. Unfortunately I need something more practical. Why oh why hath GM forsaken me by not building the G8 Wagon. 😉
I am an import guy, but this is the the best GM design in years. A great looking sports car that doesn’t look like a bar of soap. The thing screams muscle car. While I am sure the quality, reliability, materials and fit and finish will not be as high as import sport coupes, they will be good enough for a car this good looking and powerful to crush the imports. This and the Caddy CTS are definitely good signs for GM. Maybe concentrating on a few models with better looks and quality is better then release tons of crappy cars and seeing what sells.

Too bad for you that you won’t be able to fill up anything more than a lawn mower. I’d have no problem keeping the new Camaro on the road. I can use those silly little Smart Cars as pylons.

But it seems we agree that the GT-R is cartoonish. As for the Nissan Z, at least it doesn’t have this car’s fat ass. The GT-R will smoke this Carmaro, however.
I’d rather have the gorgeous Caddy CTS over this silly car. But if you like it enough to defend it, then I’ll be sure to wave when I pass by your trailer park.

I like this a lot. I hope they offer it with a ridiculous high-performance V8 to compete with the GT-R, but also a sophisticated and efficient turbo V6 or hi-output diesel. I would like for GM to think outside the box on this one so that Chevy can appear to be real innovators to shake their image of building dumbed-down WT cars. This is going to be a mass marketed vehicle, so it matters that they appeal to a wide audience. And a wide audience today wants cars available to them that sip gas and still look stylish.
My only other comment based on this pictures is that I really don’t like the plastic rings around the gauges. The design looks really heavy-handed.

Performance comes at a price. Ugliness can be had for the price of a Camaro.
Nissan GTR,it is the king, we waited many years to let you americans come up with something before we introduced this “Godzilla” of a car. But, we just could not wait any longer. The GTR is coming, it will eat up everything in its path, the easiest to digest will be weak redneck cars like this trans am or camaro or whatever they call them, HA!

For what Nissan is asking for the GT-R, I can go elsewhere and get performance AND good looks, too, without driving around in your cartoonish ricer-boy Godzilla toy. How long before Nissan issues a recall? You may now go back to playing your video racing games in mommy’s basement.
