Ford Escape Hybrid Plug-in.

They are making them!
But only about 20 or so for testing in Southern California.
Which means by the time this is ready for production, there might be another Escape. Or no more Escape at all.
Plug-ins will be great.
The GM Volt is rumored to be able to travel 60 miles on electric charge alone. That’s plenty for most commuters to never use gas again.
You still have to create the electricity, which right now isn’t a very clean process in the USA. Even worse is ethanol, the advantage is nothing when you factor in creating and processing the crops that it takes to make it.
again these guys are ahead oof the curve go ford!!!!!
blame the same people who say there is global warming for not enough nuke power in the us
these are the same people who wanted windmills for electricity, which are now killing off endangered birds
but where would we plug in to charge once we got to work?
I want one of those! … the same way I want a hole in my head.
And electricity comes from the electric company, which is powered by love and harmony. I can’t imagine how the widespread use of plug-in vehicles would impact the power grid. Has anyone thought this through?
Vince, will you please post this?

In the United States in 2003, wind generators accounted for only three-thousandths of 1 percent of bird killings — no more than 37,000 birds. That same year, possibly as many as a billion birds died in collisions with buildings, and electrical power lines may have accounted for more than a billion more deaths. And domestic cats were responsible for the demise of an estimated hundreds of millions of songbirds and other species every year.
