2009 Chevrolet Aveo 5
Last Updated:
Chevy has finally updated the hatchback version of the small Aveo.
But it doesn’t get an all new body like the sedan did last year. Only a new front and revised back.
It does get the new interior from the sedan.
and they say the engine is new as well. still 1.6 Liter with 107hp now.
I remember testing the Aveo last year and I liked it. I thought the car was really quiet and smooth.
On top of being very roomy.
But the interior was pretty cheap. Seems that has been fixed. And the crash results weren’t so good.
We’ll see about that.
Now, where are you supposed to put a license plate….
I tested an Aveo as well – the doors are very thin – almost like a tin can.
Fugly.
Fugly.
Fender vents lolroflmao!
That blue Michigan plate is a mystery. They have not issued any of them since last January, and with three letters and three numbers, probably two years, so if this is a registered car, it is from last year. Maybe they just modified an old one for pictures.
I drove one of these as a rental.
I admonished the salesman when I returned it for having it in their inventory.
This thing is noisy and scary to drive. Does not feel safe at all, esp. when driving on the NJ Turnpike.
It does handle reasonably well, and is easy to park.
It is also the first car I’ve driven in 15 years that has roll-up windows (in the base version the rental agency had). I got a kick showing my niece how to use them when I picked her up from middle school.

Don’t know what was wrong with your car but the one I drove for 3 weeks was quiet and well made, got 38mpg, and was fun to drive. I would buy one without hesitation, it is a good little car for the money. I suspect some of the remarks on this board are somewhat bias toward Chevy and GM.
