2025 Acura RDX.

Last Updated:

Those who were expecting a new design for the 2025 Acura RDX will be disappointed. Even if you expected a real “mid-cycle refresh”, sadness and sorrow will be on the menu.

Outside the grille has been ever so slightly modified. Something only current owners will notice. And unlike the 2025 Acura MDX, the dreaded trackpad is still there! They’ve redesigned part of the console with larger cupholders, but the only thing they had to do was getting rid of the trackpad and they didn’t. The “touchpad” as they call it, has always been the single worse aspect of the otherwise great Acura RDX. Keeping it around shows how out of touch they seem to be.

This is a strange and disappointing move. Especially since the current RDX is now over 6 years old, these tiny changes probably mean the current design will be available for at least another year or two.

Otherwise, black wheels are now standard. More bad news…

  1. Ok, I’m just going to say it. I don’t understand how Acura has let the RDX remain so unchanged over its now LONG lifetime. Yes, the pandemic happened. Supply chain issues happened. EV mania happened. But this is the segment where all the money is still being made. Yet… it gets truly minor updates each time. I’m not advocating a full redesign. But do something with the headlights, like the MDX. Redesign that terrible center stack (not just the useless TrueTouch Interface, but the whole push button drive and rotary drive selector). Especially if they can’t replace the 2.0L turbo engine – do the rest! PS. red interiors are over. Enough of the skunk striped seats too. Bring back a nicer two color combo like Parchment with gray. And red shouldn’t be a color for the display. Its hard to see, especially backed by gray. Put the full digital display in it. All this gimmicky s**t makes this thing look super old and cheap. This damn car costs enough that they should already have done this. Finally, where’s the TypeS? The RDX should have had this before the MDX. What are they waiting for…EV’s? (ha hahahaaaa….. ok, good one). Acura, get your axxes in gear and get back to making Sport Hybrids like you did with the MDX, RLX, and NSX. The tech should already be better and more readily available. Screw the statement you made three years ago. BEVs might be coming, but not that quickly. [end rant]
